Scott Rodrick was born with ketchup in his veins—a colorful metaphor borrowed from Ray Kroc, the founder of McDonald’s, and one that perfectly captures his lifelong connection to the restaurant world. Growing up, Scott learned the art of crafting the perfect hamburger from his father, Guy, one of the pioneering franchisees who partnered with Kroc in the 1960s. His weekends were spent working in bustling McDonald’s kitchens, igniting a passion for the industry that shaped his career. After graduating from Dartmouth College and briefly working on Wall Street, Scott followed the entrepreneurial call to California, where he acquired his first McDonald’s franchise in 1993, fulfilling his dream of becoming a small business owner.
Over three decades, Scott built an $80 million-per-year enterprise, mentored thousands of employees, and collaborated with countless individuals to strengthen the iconic Golden Arches brand. His journey has also led to co-founding restaurant startups, taking on leadership roles, and advocating for the broader restaurant community. The most rewarding aspect of Scott’s career has been mentoring up-and-coming entrepreneurs, sharing his experiences, and fostering growth in the food and beverage industry.
